Zhuhai HENGQIN, China – July 14, 2026 – Independent international advisor Peter Helis (贺励平) was a featured panelist at the annual Horasis Asia Meeting, held in the Hengqin Cooperation Zone from July 8–10, 2026.
Participating in the session "Unleashing the Power of Asian Innovation Ecosystems," Helis shared key insights on the Greater Bay Area’s (GBA) macroeconomic transition toward advanced, high-tech sectors.
The panel, moderated by Becky Wong of Globex Capital, brought together regional experts to examine the localized policies, intellectual property frameworks, and supply chain integrations driving Asia’s industrial growth.
Drawing on his 23 years of residency in Hong Kong and Guangzhou—including seven years serving as Global Investment Promotion Director for the Guangzhou Huangpu District—Helis highlighted the GBA’s evolution from a low-cost manufacturing hub into a premier global cluster for artificial intelligence, biomedicine, and autonomous driving.
"The immediate proximity between R&D, robust supply chains, and advanced manufacturing centers makes the GBA an unparalleled environment for international tech scaling," Helis noted.
He also addressed the strategic role of specialized sub-zones like Hengqin in building a cohesive regional network, emphasizing that cross-border collaboration and clear policy translation remain essential tools for Western executives navigating the GBA market.
